At KaamAdda, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the KaamAdda app or website (www.kaamadda.com).

By registering or using KaamAdda, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We are committed to complying with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) of India and all applicable data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account & Identity Information

When you register on KaamAdda, we collect:

• Full name
• Mobile phone number (used as your primary login identifier)
• Email address (optional)
• Password (stored in encrypted form — we never store plain-text passwords)

2.2 Authentication Data

• Your mobile number is used to send an OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS for account verification and secure login.
• Your phone number becomes your permanent account identifier on the platform. It cannot be changed without account re-verification.

2.3 Worker Profile Information

Workers registering on KaamAdda additionally provide:

• Occupation/trade category (e.g. Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter)
• Skills and experience details
• City, state, and postcode (for location-based discovery)
• Full address (collected to improve job matching accuracy and to show workers opportunities near their location — not displayed publicly)
• Pincode (used internally for locality-based matching)
• Profile photo (optional — helps build trust with clients)
• Work sample photos (optional — displayed on your public profile)

2.4 Work Posting Information

When you post a job/work on KaamAdda:

• Job title and description
• Category required
• Budget (optional)
• Timeline preference
• City, state, and postcode
• Contact name and phone number
• WhatsApp number (optional)
• Email address (optional)
• Work photos (optional — up to 5 images, visible to all users)

2.5 Usage & Technical Data

• Pages visited, search queries entered, and features used
• Device type, operating system, and app version
• IP address and general location (city-level only)
• Session duration and interaction patterns (used to improve the app)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Verify your identity via OTP during registration and login
• Display worker profiles to users searching in your area
• Connect job posters with relevant workers nearby
• Send important account notifications (OTP, account updates)
• Improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience
• Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and platform abuse
• Comply with legal obligations under applicable Indian law

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.

4. What Is Publicly Visible

Understanding what others can see is important:

Worker profiles:

• Name, category, skills, experience, city, profile photo, and work sample photos are visible to all users of the platform.
• Phone number is displayed publicly on worker profiles so clients can contact workers directly without a middleman.

Work posts / job listings:

• Job title, description, category, city, and work photos are visible to all users.
• Contact phone number on a work post is visible to workers who browse or apply to the listing.

What is NEVER publicly visible:

• Full address and pincode of workers (used only for matching, not shown)
• Email address
• Password
• OTP codes

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We may share limited data only with:

• SMS/OTP service providers (to deliver your verification codes)
• Hosting and infrastructure providers (to operate the platform)
• Analytics tools (to understand app usage — anonymized data only)

All third-party service providers are contractually bound to protect your data and cannot use it for any independent purpose.

We may also disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority in India.

6. Account Deletion & Data Removal

You can permanently delete your KaamAdda account at any time:

• Mobile app: Go to Settings → Delete Account → Confirm
• Web: Go to Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete Account (www.kaamadda.com/users/profile?tab=privacy-security)

When you delete your account:

• Your profile, name, phone number, email, posted works, photos, and application history are permanently deleted.
• Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Deleted accounts cannot be restored.
• We may retain anonymized, non-identifiable data for fraud prevention and platform security purposes for up to 90 days.
• Records required for legal or tax compliance may be retained for up to 7 years in anonymized form only.

7. Data Retention

• Active account: Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active on the platform.
• Deleted account: Personal data is removed immediately upon deletion.
• Anonymized usage data: May be retained for up to 12 months to improve platform performance.
• Legal/compliance records: Retained for up to 7 years as required by Indian law.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct or update inaccurate information (via Profile Settings)
• Delete your account and all associated data (see Section 6)
• Withdraw consent for optional data (photos, email) at any time
• Opt out of platform notification emails via the unsubscribe link

9. Data Security

We protect your data using:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/SSL)
• Encrypted password storage (never stored in plain text)
• Secure cloud servers with access controls

No internet platform can guarantee 100% security. We encourage you to use a strong password and not share your OTP with anyone.

10. Cookies & Tracking (Website Only)

The KaamAdda website uses cookies to:

• Keep you logged in
• Remember your language and search preferences
• Understand how users navigate the site (anonymized analytics)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work correctly without cookies enabled. The KaamAdda mobile app does not use browser cookies.

11. Children's Privacy

KaamAdda is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has registered, we will delete the account immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our platform evolves or as required by law. The updated version will always be posted at: www.kaamadda.com/privacy-policy with the revision date.

For significant changes, we will notify registered users via the app or email.
